We are a proud member of Alpacas Without Borders

Our story

Nestled in a wooded corner overlooking a rambling creek, Turkey Creek Alpacas is centrally located in upstate Indiana approximately 30 miles south of the Michigan border.

Our farm started in 2001 with only a log home on 4 acres. Everything needed for raising alpacas was built from the ground up - a barn, fencing, seeding pastures, the works! It was quite an adventure.

Our alpaca "adventure" started after seeing an ad on the Discovery channel which portrayed the animals as gentle and easy to manage. We spent many hours researching the alpaca business and visited several farms.

Raising the animals as a small business was appealing to us because the end product from the animal, soft and luxurious wool referred to as "fiber", is obtained without harm.

The appeal to raise "green" livestock with the added bonus of a "green" end product was exactly what we were searching for.

We view the alpaca business as a two-fold opportunity - the first being the breeding and sales of animals - and the second the start of a cottage business from the fiber.

Our vision is to breed healthy animals with correct conformation - and most of all - breed for quality fiber.

Our focus is to create an end product that utilizes the unique qualities of the alpaca fiber.

Our choice to be a small farm allows us the opportunity to give individual attention to our animals that larger farms often cannot. With this approach, we can assure the best attention, nutritionally and health-wise for each animal.

Why buy from us?

Because we are small and able to provide full-time, on-site care, Turkey Creek Alpacas is always there to assist when needed. We pride ourselves in that we hold the highest moral standards and uphold the ethics of the industry. We provide complete and accurate health records for each animal. We have fine tuned our record-keeping to indicate such things as a dam’s exact breeding and birthing schedules, milk and colostrum production, cria birth weight and growth rates.

Our animals have been desensitized and trained at an early age making them easy to handle and care for, a pleasure to have around. We know each animal’s personality, their quirks and particular habits. To us they are “individuals”, not just part of our herd.

We are quality driven, service oriented, and small by choice. The bottom line is, we don’t only offer support, we deliver!

We offer

  • ARI registered stock

  • Competitive pricing

  • Trained animals

  • Complete health records

  • Reproductive & live birth guarantee

  • 2 months free boarding with purchase of production female

  • Free delivery within 200 miles

  • Flexible financing

  • Continuous support & assistance

We invite you to tour our farm and share our enjoyment of the alpacas and this exceptional lifestyle.
